WHEN YOUR CAREER NO LONGER REFLECTS WHO YOU ARE

MEET Bernadette CORNELIS
This is my story
I work with executives and high-potential professionals to transform their careers and leadership through applied neuroscience.
Many reach a point where their career no longer reflects who they are, yet they don't know where to start.
I know that place. Because I have been there myself.
I have it all figured out
By 28, I am thriving in blue-chip companies, working alongside global leaders and seeing how decisions are made at the highest levels.
My work gives me a close-up view of executive decision-making, leadership dynamics, talent strategy and the career choices that shape people's lives.
It looks like success. I keep striving. I keep pushing. I keep moving forward.
But somewhere along the way, I stop recognizing myself in the path I'm following.
Success that no longer reflects who you are creates a silent disconnect.
The journey that changes everything
In 2005, I build my own firm. At the same time, I immerse myself in applied neuroscience to understand something I can no longer ignore: What influences the way we make decisions, lead and shape our careers? The more I explore, the clearer it becomes.
When your career no longer reflects who you are, that disconnect doesn't stay in one place. It influences the decisions you make, the direction you take and the way you experience life.
That realization changes my approach to career and leadership transformation. It becomes about much more than finding the next role or developing another leadership skill. It becomes about identifying what influences how we decide, lead and create value.

Over the years, I see this pattern repeatedly in the executives I work with. Highly capable people with ambition, experience and success can still reach a point where their career no longer reflects who they are, but they don't know where to start.
The answer is rarely another model, another competency or another career plan.
I wanted to create a different approach.
One that brings together what I learned through executive search, talent, business and entrepreneurship with what applied neuroscience reveals about the brain and decision-making.
That becomes The I Am Unique System™.
It combines business experience with applied neuroscience to approach career and leadership transformation differently.
I believe ambition and authenticity can coexist.
So can fulfillment, performance and lasting success.
Your career doesn't have to be a choice between achievement and fulfillment.
Your leadership doesn't have to separate who you are from how you perform.
I Am Unique is built on a simple belief:
The way you decide, lead and create value should reflect what makes you unique
Become who you are
Become Who You Are
Why I created I Am Unique
WHAT I BRING TO THE CONVERSATION
Not another model.
Not a predefined career path.
A perspective shaped by years of working with executives, building businesses, navigating different cultures and seeing career and leadership decisions from many sides.
And an approach that combines that experience with applied neuroscience.
The I Am Unique System™ brings it together

THIS WORK IS PERSONAL
I know what it takes to keep moving forward because everything appears to be going well.
I also know what it's like to realize that success alone doesn't tell you whether you're on the right path.
That experience is part of why I do this work today. Your career should reflect who you are.
It starts with you
Your ambition. Your experience. Your decisions. Your leadership. Your direction.
And ultimately, what makes your career yours.
